Important info for Norwich City game
CELTIC fans travelling to Norwich for the Adam Drury testimonial match at Carrow Road this Tuesday, May 22, are urged not to take flares or any other pyrotechnics into the ground.

Smoke set off in a football stadium is not safe and may adversely affect persons who suffer from breathing disorders. In recent events, flares have also inadvertently caused seats to burn and may obviously have serious consequences if flags are ignited.

Brother Walfrid - Celtic's founding father

He was born Andrew Kerins in Ballymote Co, Sligo on this day, May 18, 1840, and ventured on the divine path by taking up the oath of the Marist Brotherhood.

Forrest fired up for season 2012/13 campaign
ONE of the success stories in a Celtic season crammed with success stories was that of James Forrest, who further cemented his place in the first team with a string of riveting performances that had supporters on their feet and open-mouthed in acclaim of the young midfielder.

His hopes of capping everything off by taking part in the climax to the season were dashed when injury robbed him of the on-field enjoyment of a championship run-in as the Celts ended the campaign in style.

However, he hasn’t been lying back on the treatment table idly watching the world go by as, ironically, the last few weeks have been as busy as ever for the Celt as he racked up a raft of Young Player of the Years awards in a packed schedule of events.

Brown looking forward to Sunday silver service
A PESSIMIST would say that we’ve been waiting for four years while an optimist would suggest that we’ve been waiting for just over four weeks since clinching the title at Kilmarnock.

However, one thing is for sure, when the dust has settled on Celtic’s final match of the campaign on Sunday when Hearts visit, the SPL trophy will be held proudly aloft by the 2011/12 Champions – and it is skipper Scott Brown who will have the honour of raising the trophy to the Heavens in Paradise – probably in front of 60,000 Celtic fans all doing the 'Broony'.

The captain said: “It’s been a long time coming since we won the game at Kilmarnock.

May 9 - the day we 'stopped the 10'
THE late 1960s and early ‘70s were truly memorable and, indeed, were the golden years of Celtic Football Club.

The nine championships in a row bear witness to that fact but those years were also about so much more than claiming the title at the end of every season.

There was the small matter of winning the European Cup in 1967 and reaching the final again three years later as well as another couple of semi-final appearances thrown in for good measure.
